Finnwatch – the NGO Andy conducted the field research for – gives Andy a full support on the Natural Fruit issue. Finnwatch states that the legal cases filed by Natural Fruit are groundless and sees the law suites as an attack against human rights defenders and freedom of expression.
Despite strong evidense of labour rights violations Natural Fruit has been allowed to continue its business as before. An independent third party audition should be conducted in the Natural Fruit premises. Human rights issues should also be taken into account in the ongoing free trade agreement negotiations between EU and Thailand.
